Dropping your Weapon - The Oddball Trick
Possibly the most useful trick when filming in Halo 2. It allows you to drop your weapon giving you a partially clear view to record movies. Best part is, It's part of the game, no need to cheat or use any fancy editing to get a cool effect.

Step 1
Setup a default Oddball game. Set "Ball Indicator" to "Always Off" via the "Quick Options". Set your starting weapon to Plasma Pistol and set whatever weapons on the map that you prefer. Once it is set up, locate the Oddball.

Step 2
Ensure that you have no secondary weapon equipped, then charge up your Plasma Pistol to a full charge and position yourself in front of the Oddball.

Step 3
While holding the R Trigger still, stand over the Oddball. Now quickly press and hold the X button while back peddling while still holding the R Trigger. If done correctly, the Oddball and Plasma Pistol will fly out of your hands leaving you with no weapon. If you pick up the Oddball by mistake simply press the L Trigger to drop it.

Final Results
You can now move about freely without a weapon. Avoid running over a gun as you will pick it up. It may be difficult on your first try but keep at it, eventually it's quite simple. If you zoom in, your radar will disappear.
